The book will need to be awaiting publication before I come clean on this poem.

Sounds of sunset’s bliss
amidst yesterday’s winter blizzards
bleak doom
damaged children
dancing on marionette strings,
parading in front of me
as if to show depth of snow
in season’s worst storm.
I watch,
wide eyed
in horror
crying tears,
& they watch
& through their own madness,
they hold hands out to me
the maddened pony-tailed girl
sitting in fear of future’s storms
& mostly this endless blizzard.
They comfort me most,
their eyes,
pats on back
& I look only toward
a horizon
barely breathing blood red
hues as sun descends on tomorrow.
I wonder
do they know they point the way
to endless seeking sunset?
